Why is renewable energy important for our planet?

July in California’s Death Valley endured the hottest month ever measured in the world. It recorded an average temperature of 108.1 degrees F. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), California also saw its hottest July and hottest month on record with an average temperature of 79.7 degrees F. In addition, California is facing the worst wildfire seasons.

It’s not just about California and the U.S. In Europe, unprecedented heat hit Scandinavia. On the other hand, In the Arctic Circle, Norway and Finland saw the historic high temperature this summer. In Asia, Japan set a national temperature record of 106.0 degrees F and at least 80 people have been killed in record-breaking heatwave in July. Nonetheless, Don’t you think something strange happens?

“2018 is shaping up to be one of the hottest years on record, with new temperature records in many countries. This is no surprise. The heatwaves and extreme heat we are experiencing are consistent with what we expect as a result of climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions. This is not a future scenario. It is happening now,” said the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Deputy Secretary-General Elena Manaenkova on its website.

There is no doubt that our planet is going to be hotter. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) forecasts global average temperature will continue to increase. Many scientists think of using renewable energy as the most important way to reduce greenhouse emissions and fight global warming.

Our identity revolves around one concept: The youth is our future. We’re bold and loud about Climate Change and take the health of our planet very seriously. We’re all in on sustainability and will do just about anything to help people go green.
